TRAIL RUNNING GROUP | 5k & 10k TRAINING GROUPS

Training program dates: Nov. 22nd, 2009 through February 7, 2010.

Be a Trail Runner and a Philanthropist. Explore all of Annadel and its more than 35 miles of scenic and challenging trails. Relax knowing that your route will be marked (so less chance of getting lost in case you are directionally challenged). You will make friends and experience an adventure like no other. You will also be helping keep Annadel State Park open, as 100% of your group entry fee will go straight towards Annadel State Park. Fleet Feet and staff is donating all of their time to make this happen.


If you are new to trail running, we think that you will find trail running to be more fun than road running for several reasons. One is that it is more challenging than road running and will therefore make you a stronger runner. You will need to utilize your core, upper body, hips, calves and glutes to propel yourself up and and down steep uneven terrain. The other reason, is that trail running is mentally stimulating so it doesn't feel like exercise but more like a great adventure which will also improve your balance, agility and mental focus. Of course, the fact that we get to do it all in Annadel, and are helping to keep it open, is just icing on the cake.


This 11 week training program will have you running on various trails throughout beautiful Annadel State Park every Sunday morning starting at 8am. This group will be training for the (pending) Annadel Half Marathon to be held February 7th, 2010. Another group run is on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm starting at Fleet Feet Sports in Railroad Square.

Registration for this trail running training program opens October 19th, 2009 and closes Nov. 22nd, 2009.

5k & 10k TRAINING GROUPS:

We have 5k & 10k training groups starting in January to train for the Just Go McDonald 5k & 10k race which occurs in April. We will have more information about these groups in the near future. Please check back soon.
